BE CHARITABLE IN PRESENTING THE TRUTH, FR. IBIMILUYI

Prince ADEMULUYI

“It is unfortunate and a scandal that many Christians live unforgiving lives.”  Rev. Fr. Peter Ibimiluyi said this in his homily on Sunday 1st June which was Communications Sunday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Lasokun. Even though Christians read from the same Holy Bible, he lamented that Christians were not united.

Fr. Peter Ibimiluyi said it was almost impossible for the different denominations to agree as it requires our sincere efforts to do so.

Many people, he said find it difficult to be charitable in presenting the truth while some may say it wrongly.

He contended that communicating rightly was a necessity adding that some of us do not communicate goodness.

Before you share a message on social media the homilist said we should find out whether it is true or otherwise.

Fr. Peter Ibimiluyi contended that some facts and comments should die with recipients.

Rather than talk about love the priest said we should live in love, contending that it is demonic to expect every other friend to fight someone he or she has issues with.
