WHY I JOINED THE DHS CONGREGATION - SR. NNEDINMA
Fidelis ENWEMEKA
Rev. Sr. Gift Nnedinma Okpoto has revealed that she joined the Daughters of the Holy Spirit (DHS) congregation because of the simple way of life of the Sisters she encountered at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Ota, Abeokuta Diocese.
Sr. Nnedimma who is from St. Charles parish, Oburunkota, a border town in Otukpo Diocese had her first religious profession at the DHS formation house in Ibadan on July 11 2025. She was born and brought up in Ota, Ogun State where she met the Daughters of the Holy Spirit Sisters.
“I was encouraged to become a Reverend Sister having observed the DHS Sisters’ exemplary love of God and humanity while I was a member of the Holy Childhood Association at St. Peter's Parish, Ota”, Sr. Nnedimma said. She encouraged young girls out there who would like to take to religious life to be prayerful, focused, patient, and determined; assuring them that serving God has innumerable benefits.
Sr. Nnedimma had a thanksgiving in company of her parents and parishioners during the parish's second Mass on Sunday, July 20, 2025. The Delegate Superior of the Society of Divine Vocations in Nigeria Rev. Fr. Lawrence Ogundipe SDV, who celebrated the Mass, congratulated her and wished her success in her endeavours.
