ST. ANNE'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, IGANGAN CELEBRATES FEAST DAY 2025.

St. Anne's Parish Feast Day was celebrated with a series of engaging activities that fostered community spirit and spiritual growth. The festivities commenced with 9 days novena to St. Anne, from July 18-26 allowing parishioners to deepen their faith and devotion.

Part of the activities was evangelization and home to home visitation, celebration of Sacrament of Baptism for 9 candidates and Blessing of Marriages for 2 couples: Mr and Mrs Anthony Eniola and Mr and Mrs Patrick Ojoawo and this was done on the 26th of July (St Anne's Feast day) 2025.

To promote fellowship and healthy competition, a football match was held between the CMO and CWO and volleyball match was played between the CMO and CYON and it was officiated by the Parish Priest of St. Rita's Catholic Church Olowu Igangan, Rev. Fr. Victor Ugbor. The results of the competitions were as follows: for the Football match the CMO emerged victoriously, defeating CWO 3 – 2. Volleyball match between CYON and CWO ended in 1-1.

The grand finale of the Feast Day celebrations took place on Sunday July 27th, where the community gathered for a thanksgiving Mass which was presided over by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Calistus Afolabi. In his homily, he emphasized the importance of prayer in the life of a Christian, and therefore encouraged the faithful as a community of believers to persist and persevere in prayer, praying for one another. He also urged the faithful to adopt this phrase (PUSH); “Pray Until Something Happen”.

The second part of the celebration continued after the Mass featuring a vibrant community gathering. The event included music, drama and cultural performances and launching. The Feast Day Committee Chairman Mr. Stephen Oguniyi thanked everyone present at the celebration for their financial and spiritual supports towards the success of the celebration. Closing prayer was done by Cat. Kehinde Philip with the Benediction which was done by the Parish Priest.
