The Confraternity of Christian Mothers, Ibadan Archdiocese at its Archdiocesan Meeting on Sunday, July 20th at the Catholic Church of the Ascension, Bodija held a special ceremony to honour distinguished individuals who have shown unwavering support for the organization since its inception.
In a warm and colorful gathering, the Archdiocesan President, Mrs. Ifeoma Eribo, speaking on behalf of the National President who earlier bestowed the awards during the recent National Executive Council meeting held in June Warri Diocese, praised the honourees for their selfless contributions and ongoing encouragement of the body’s mission, particularly among women and families within the Church. Awards of recognition were presented to selected members of the Catholic Church of Ascension, who have consistently supported the confraternity over the years.
“We appreciate your dedication, generosity, and faith,” Mrs. Eribo said, “and we pray that God continues to strengthen and bless you for all you do.”
Welcoming the Christian Mothers and guests to the parish, Rev. Fr. Peace Jemibor, representing the Parish Priest – Rev. Fr. Francis Awotoye and the Parish Pastoral Council, commended the commitment of the mothers to the moral and spiritual upbringing of families. “Thank you for your dedication to building morally upright homes. May God continue to bless your efforts and strengthen you” he added.
One of the awardees, Prof. Chioma Azuzu, who is also the 5th National President of the Confraternity, thanked the confraternity for the honour and also lauded the efforts of her fellow awardees. She urged members to remain prayerful and united. “We are standing on the shoulders of giants - those who walked this path before us. Let us honour their legacy by staying committed and faithful.”
In her brief address, Prof. Azuzu also reflected on the significance of the international diploma of affiliation to Pittsburg, attained by the confraternity, linking them formally to the International Headquarters of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She described it as a testament to the continued growth and global relevance of the body.
