YOUNG CHRISTIAN WORKERS MOVEMENT IBADAN ARCHDIOCESE HOLDS HER FIRST ADVANCE TRAINING
At the integral nature of the YCW is to the desire to raise leaders. Our founder Cardinal Cardijn is known for saying "give me young people and I will raise leaders". In the bid to fulfill this mandate, the YCW of the Archdiocese of Ibadan had an advance training.
This is to build on the Basic and the intermediate training. To drive this home, members across parishes in the Archdiocese used the opportunity to develop their leadership skills through intense lectures.
The Advance Training is a cumulative of the intermediate and Basic training. It covered areas such as Financial Intelligence, Conflict Resolution, Crisis Management, Introspection, Extrospection, Leadership Skills and Social Networking etc.
Rev. Fr. Peter Ibimiluyi gave a talk on the need to grow as young people through constant training. He used this as a means to raise the minds of the trainees to the fact that knowledge is important in life.
Also, Sir. Eze Ozor and Comrade Kelechi, both National Leaders gave lectures to the trainees on the contemporary tools of the YCW through the See, Judge and Act means.
Rev. Fr. Wale Taiwo was also present to advise the trainees to leverage on the training and use the knowledge acquired to help build their respective parishes.
In all 40 members were trained and certificate of participation given to them all.
