The 2025 annual convention of Women's Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN), Oyo State Chapter held at New Eruwa Baptist Church, Eruwa, Oyo State from Thursday 28th August to Saturday 30th August with the Theme: Women of Positive Impacts (Judges 5:7).

It was a 3-day with the Lord event and Award presentation. In her Address, the WOWICAN Oyo State Chairperson, Lady Dr. Amaechi-Obi Patricia Ifeoma, LSM, JP, thanked God for the safe journey of the participants at the convention.

 

She noted that the theme of the gathering reflected both the identity of them and their calling which makes the event more than a mere formality. "We are gathered from far and near under the divine theme: "Women of Positive Impacts ", taken from Judges 5:7- a theme that speaks to both our identity and our calling. Indeed, this gathering is not a mere formality; it is a divine appointment - a tune for reflection, fellowship, empowerment, and spiritual rejuvenation." The Chairperson declared.

 

The Chairperson encouraged the participants to fully participate and to open their hearts to what God is set to do for them as she charged everyone present to make sure that their impact is felt during the convention and afterwards in their various spheres of influence.

 

The activities at the convention included an evangelization rally to all nooks and crannies of Eruwa, Bible study sessions, Lectures coordinated by different zones, cultural display, Night of Praise, Match Pass Parade, Drama, Singing Competition from each Local Government Chapter's dialect relating to the theme of the year, Award presentation and lots more.

 

The topics for the lectures included 'Gender-Based Violence: A growing concern', which was delivered by the WOWICAN Oyo State Chairperson, Lady Dr. Amaechi-Obi Patricia Ifeoma LSM JP, and 'Leaders as Agent of Transformation' which was delivered by Catechist Christiana Fadodun and 'Cultivating Deeper Relationship with God and Others (Ecclesiastics 4:9-12)' and was delivered by Evangelist O.R Obasekore.

 

In her appreciation address, the Convention Planning Committee Secretary, Snr Prophetess Afolake O. Adesina thanked God for the success of the 2025 Convention of WOWICAN Oyo State Chapter.

 

She expressed heartfelt appreciation to all individuals, churches, Local Government Chapters and Zones on behalf of the State Planning Committee, as she acknowledged their contributions towards ensuring the success of the convention.

She noted that the prayers, financial and moral support with encouragement and active participation of everyone before and during the convention was highly valued by the committee.
