It will be recalled that the Metropolitan Archbishop of Ibadan, Most Rev. Gabriel 'Leke Abegunrin on the 15th of August 2024 announced the creation of new deaneries part of which is the Òkè - Àdó Deanery.

Series of meetings were held at St. Joseph Catholic Church Òkè - Àdó which culminated in the election of the pioneer executives on Sunday May 25, 2025.

The first official quarterly meeting thereafter took place on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at St. Francis Catholic Church Sanyo-Soka.

As is customary, representatives from the various Parishes under the Deanery attended the preceding Mass officiated by the host Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Jude Adeyemo.

In his homily, the cleric charged all to at all times live exemplary lives of humility according to the day's Gospel reading. He urged all to be humble because we all are dust and to dust we shall return.

Towards the end of the Mass, the newly elected Deanery President, Mr. Francis 'Dele Ayanjompe addressed the congregation to call for greater interest in the activities of the Laity. He reiterated the fact that except for consecrated persons, everyone else is a lay faithful. He thus called for the support of all in achieving greater heights. This was followed by Thanksgiving.

At the meeting, the Deanery Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Stephen Balogun appreciated all and sundry for coming. He expressed his appreciation to the host Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Jude Adeyemo for graciously accepting to host the meeting. He called on all to be worthy ambassadors of their respective Parishes and Quasi Parishes.

Addresses were delivered by the host PLC President Sir Agorye Pius Ikashi as well as the Deanery President Mr. Francis 'Dele Ayanjompe who presided over the meeting.

The second quarterly meeting was at the end of the day slated for Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Felele on Sunday November 30, 2025.
