IF NOT FOR NATURE, …
S.O.S ALIEME
God has been very faithful to his people that he decided to create the work of nature. Many of us will take nature for granted but it is the work of nature that makes us to remain alive till this day. If not for the work of nature, Goliath would have remained alive till this present day tormenting everyone. If not for the work of nature, the poor must have been trampled upon and made to suffer till eternity. If not for the work of nature, the powerful would not have allowed the weak to raise and have children. If not for the work of nature, the rich would have bought life and never to die for as long as they wanted.
God shamed the rich, the powerful, the oppressor, the mighty, and the dragon among others by creating nature to assist the poor, the oppressed, the weak, the little, the phoenix. If not for nature, the rich would have asked the poor to pay for air before they can breathe. What a world full of sins. The scripture says vanity upon vanity all is vanity. If not for nature Methuselah could have been living till this day. If not for nature King Solomon could have been around us till this day. Where is Samson, projected to be one of the most powerful beings God created?
A ‘free gift of nature’ that God in his infinite mercy bestowed on to man refers to vital resources and elements provided by the environment without human creation or cost, such as air, sunlight, water, fertile soil, forests, and land, essential for life, yet often overlooked until scarce, prompting philosophical views on stewardship and capitalism’s failure to value them. Do you know the wickedness and selfishness of man are found in him when these free gifts are being sold, forcefully acquired for selfish interest except that God refused to allow man to sell air, which is the most important of all these gifts? If not for nature, where would many of us be by now?
But God knew in his wisdom, seeing that man is wicked and could not be allowed to live for eternity except he dies and gives way for other people to rise. The true condition of the entire human life on earth without God can be summed up in one word, VANITY. King Solomon had everything he wanted, including wisdom, riches, etc but when he analyzed and pondered on the human living and the human existence, his conclusion was that all is vanity of vanities. All the things in the human life are vanity. They are like pursuing after shadows and chasing after wind. The human life itself is short, fleeting, short-lived, and filled with labour and sorrow. The strong ones among us live until 80-90 years old, but most people finish their course somewhere at the age of 70. If one lives on the earth, though he may live up until the age of eighty or ninety, if he lives without the Lord Jesus, his life is filled with labour and sorrow, and the years fly away just like that. Why is it this way? Why all is vanity in the human life? It is simply because man was created for God, and man’s real satisfaction, man’s real peace, and man’s real pleasure is God Himself. God is man’s blessing, but man has left God and was lost.
Now all men try to fill their need for pleasure and satisfaction by doing things, accumulating things, being in relationships, etc all these things are empty and even worse, they bring us in a bondage. Because man does not have God as the meaning and center of his life, he struggles to obtain enjoyment. The result of man’s struggle and strife is that he falls into all kinds of bondage. All man’s seeking of pleasure and satisfaction apart from God brings man into bondage.
Even our family and our relatives can become a bondage to us, seemingly necessary and positive things and situations can enslave us. If our inward being is occupied by any person or thing, the Lord has no ground in us. When Christ comes in and fills your heart, when you enjoy the Lord in His word in your personal time with Him or in the meetings with the saints, your heart is filled with God and you have a meaning in your human life.
Man’s real pleasure, satisfaction, and blessing is God Himself filling man’s vessel. Man was really made to contain God and be filled with God, any other endeavours or seeking to be filled with other things that seemingly bring us satisfaction result in bondage and eventually death. The Lord today wants us to be filled with Him, He wants more room in our heart for Him so that God may fill us, occupy our being, and saturate us.
Come to the Lord and open to Him to be filled with Him, be filled with reality, peace, satisfaction, and meaning. Remember and be informed that this worldly life is only temporary enjoyment, and indeed, the Hereafter - that is the home of permanent settlement. Thank you, nature for curbing the excesses of man. Whatever position acquired by man such as President of a country, Governor of a State, Local government Chairman, Special assistants and Senior special assistants, remember you are from the dust and unto the dust you shall return. When it is time for nature to act, it will take you away and replace you with a mere child that is born. If not for nature, …
God Bless Nigeria!!!
