Amb. Arowolo Emerges National YOWICAN Chairman, Pledges Continuity.

Ambassador Ademola Arowolo from Organisation of Africa Instituted Churches, (OAIC) Bloc has emerged the new National Chairman of the Youth Wing Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), following elections held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the National Christian Ecumenical Centre, Abuja.
The poll marked the end of a successful five-year tenure of Amb. Belusochukwu Enwere of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN) Bloc which started in February, 2021.
In his valedictory speech, Enwere thanked God, the leadership of the CSN Bloc, and prominent figures including President Bola Tinubu, First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu and mentor Barr. Seyi Tinubu for their support during his tenure.
He mentioned some of his achievements such as nationwide youth empowerment programs, the introduction and production of YOWICAN uniform, successful conduct of Conferences and Conventions as well as facilitating CNG buses for all geopolitical zones and the National Headquarters from the office of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Distinguished Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
Amb. Arowolo, who thanked God and all stakeholders for his election, pledged to build on the legacies of his predecessor.
He promised that his administration would collaborate with federal and state governments, faith-based organizations, civil society groups, media houses, security agencies, and well-meaning Nigerians to advance the association’s mission.
Other members of the new Officers are Enunuaye Onajite (National YOWICAN Vice Chairman) from CCN, Nehemiah Michael (National YOWICAN Secretary) from CPFN/PFN, Dr Joshua Jeremiah Dandaura from (National YOWICAN Assistant Secretary) from ECWA/TEKAN and Sanusi Samalia (National YOWICAN Treasurer) from CSN Bloc.
Others are Flora Raymond (National Director of Ecumenism and Inter-faith) from ECWA/TEKAN, Olasomojo Samuel (National Director of Research, Planning and Strategy) from CCN, Arch. Mayowa Ogunruku (National Director of National Issues and Social Welfare) from CPFN/PFN, Ebere Augusta (Director of Legal and Public Affairs) from CSN Bloc, and Gbadebo Emmanuel (Director of Education, Women, Youth, and Children) from OAIC Bloc.
The election and inauguration were witnessed by the General Secretary of CAN, Prof. Samson Fatokun; National CAN Director for Education, Women, Education and Children, Dr Emmanuel N. Ozumba; the Electoral College led by Rev. Fr. Boniface Idoko; Bloc Leaders, and Zonal and State YOWICAN Chairmen.
