On Thursday, 6th August 2026, seven sisters made their First Religious Profession of Vows with the Congregation of the Medical Missionaries of Mary. The solemn ceremony took place at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Eleta, Ibadan at exactly 10:00am prompt. The seven sisters who professed their vows are: Sr. Geovana Chilongo, Sr. Agnes Etido Enwenwen, Sr. Glory Obiekwe, Sr. Scholastica Onwunara, Sr. Anastasia Kawishe, Sr. Fidelia Josee Lawin and Sr. Pemphero Kalulu.

The Holy Mass was presided over by the Chief Celebrant, Fr. Peter Jibgba, OSJ. The liturgy was prayerful and well attended by members of the congregation, family, friends, and well-wishers who came to witness and support the sisters on this significant step in their religious journey. The atmosphere was filled with joy, thanksgiving, and a deep sense of commitment as the sisters publicly dedicated their lives to God through the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience.

This first profession marks an important milestone for the seven sisters and for the Medical Missionaries of Mary as they continue their mission of healing and service. It is a moment of grace for the Church in Ibadan and a witness to the call to religious life. We pray that God who has begun this good work in them will bring it to completion, and that their lives will continue to radiate the love and compassion of Christ in service to humanity.
