The Parish Laity Council President, St. Mary Cathedral Oke-Padi, Chief Cosmas Olalekan Ibiloye Oni gave thanks to God for His blessings over his life on his successful installation as the new Mogaji of Aba-Oni Esu, Adamasingba, Ibadan. He was installed by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja (Arusa 1) on Monday 27th July, 2026 at the Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan. This was followed by reception of guests at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba on Saturday, 1st August, 2026. The event witnessed the presence of various dignitaries from the media world, the parish and Archdiocese of Ibadan.

 

On Sunday 9th August, 2026, the new Mogaji was filled with joy in thanksgiving to God at St. Mary Cathedral, Oke-Padi, Ibadan. His family, friends and well-wishers joined in appreciating God for finding him worthy to assume this new role in life which placed him officially in line for the prestigious Olubadan of Ibadanland stool.

 

Chief Cosmas Olalekan Ibiloye Oni is a Veteran in the media world. He was the past Secretary of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (N.U.J), Oyo State Chapter, and currently the Chairman of Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (CAMPAN), Ibadan Archdiocese and a member of Directorate of Social Communication in the Archdiocese. He also served as President of the Archdiocesan Board of Church Wardens, among many roles in the past and present.

 

The entire Parishioners of St. Mary Cathedral congratulate him on this milestone achievement and pray for good health of mind and body. We also pray that God should grant him prosperity in this new assignment.
