
Catholic Nurses' Guild of Nigeria, Ibadan Archdiocese amidst celebrating WORLD DAY OF THE SICK, got a New Provincial Chaplain.
On the 11th of February every year, we celebrate the world day of the sick. This year, 2025, being the Year of Hope, marks the 33rd year since the celebration began.
Pope Francis in his message, encouraged that, "Hope does not disappoint" {Rom 5:5}, rather, "Indeed strengthens in times of trials"
Catholic Nurses' Guild of Nigeria, Ibadan Province (Ibadan Archdiocese, Oyo, Ekiti, Ondo, Ilorin, and Osogbo Dioceses), ably represented by the President, Lady Ayoola Helen and Secretary Nr Aina Monilola, together with some of Ibadan Archdiocesan Executives, in line with the celebration, joined the Bishops of Ibadan Province, in the celebration of "Mass of the Holy Spirit", as it was tagged, at St Joseph Catholic Church, Oke-Ado on the 11th of February by 7a.m
As part of his homily, Archbishop Gabriel Abegunrin enlightened all present that everything God gives, be it power, post, talents, time or riches does not belong solely to such individual, but to be used and shared for the betterment of everyone.
The Provincial representatives joined the Bishops in their meeting where Rev. Fr. Stephen Balogun was appointed as the new Chaplain for Catholic Nurses' Guild of Nigeria, Ibadan Province, collecting the baton of continuity from Rev. Fr. Gabriel Adeniyi who had served tirelessly for years.
At the conclusion of the Holy Mass, Catholic Nurses' Guild, Ibadan Archdiocese, took part of what God gave them to the sick.
In St. Mary's Catholic Hospital, Eleta, Academy.
They prayed with the sick {babies and adults}, relatives, and newly delivered mothers.
They also distributed items {beverages, milk, detergents, toiletries} and cash to procure drugs and pay for hospital necessities for the less privileged.
Also, on Sunday, 16th February, some members of CNGN, Ibadan Archdiocese, joined the Medical team of UCH, to pay the same visit to the patients and gave gifts
Our Lady, Health of the Sick, intercede for us. Amen.
