Members of Executive of Ibadan Archdiocesan Laity Council at the 33rd executive meeting held on 15th March, 2025 made the following resolutions:

1. All parishes, Lay organizations and Deaneries are to harmonize their yearly programmes with the Archdiocesan Laity Council programmes. No Lay organization or Parish should hold events/programmes/activities when there is an Archdiocesan Laity Council activity.

Noting that all the programs and activities of Archdiocesan Laity Council supersede any parish, lay organization and deanery programs. The programmes/activities can be carried out after due consultation with the Archdiocesan Laity Council to avoid any clash of programs.

1. No Councilor should hold a particular office for more than a single term, as this is in line with the directives of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN). Councilors can hold other offices after completing a term in an office. This request becomes imperative for smooth and efficient running of the activities of Laity Council in our great Archdiocese.
2. Parishes, lay organizations and deaneries are to notify the members of executive two weeks before they will conduct their elections for adequate preparation.
3. Any deanery who is yet to conduct her election of new executive members should endeavor to conduct the election on or before 29th April, 2025. This is to ensure the smooth kick-off of the activities of deaneries.

We thereby request and urge every one of us as stakeholders to cooperate with the council to ensure growth and development of the body of Christ. This will also help in strengthening the unity among the laity and lead to a more fruitful and impactful ministry.
