
Oyo Diocese Gets a New Vicar - General
It is said that priesthood is all about service to God and humanity and this service is a continuum. At the closing Mass of the 2025 Oyo Diocesan Presbyteral Retreat held at St. Paul Pastoral Centre, Awe, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Oyo, Most Rev. Emmanuel Adetoyese Badejo, announced the appointment of Very Rev. Fr Boniface Wuraola as the new Vicar General of the Diocese of Oyo. This was necessary as Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Francis Oladipo, the former Vicar General went on a mission outside Nigeria.
Fr. Boniface Wuraola at the time of his appointment is the priest in charge of St. Anne Catholic Church, Ogbomoso and the Principal of Maryland Catholic Grammar School, Ogbomoso. He is also the Education Secretary of the Catholic Diocese of Oyo.
The Bishop also officially announced the appointment of Very Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Olabode as the Chairman of Land Committee of the Diocese, and Very Rev. Fr. Michael Falade as the new Dean of Oyo Deanery.
In his homily, Bishop Badejo also extended his best wishes to the newly appointed priests. He urged them to serve with dedication and commitment to the growth of the Diocese.
The event marked a significant moment for the Catholic Diocese of Oyo as these appointments are expected to enhance the spiritual growth and development of the priests and lay faithful of the Diocese.
