Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Aba Panu celebrates Palm Sunday.

The celebration of Palm Sunday begins the most important week in the Church and the celebration is the Holiest week in the Church. The Parish Priest, Fr, Udechukwu made emphasis on the most important week all over the world. It is the most important week because we are talking about the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Stephen Udechukwu started the homily with a song which says...."On the way to Calvary he wept for me" he wept for me my savior wept for me". Our suffering is not the end, rather it will be the beginning of God's glory in our life.

He further said that “today is Palm Sunday and it is called Bitter Sweet Sunday.” So today is bitter sweet because we rejoice at the entrance of the Mass singing Hossana in the highest. He said in our life there are necessary sufferings that if one does not pass through them, one may never be human being in life.

He further said nothing good comes easy. Jesus knew that there is something good coming, and that's why he chose this week because He has set out his journey to Jerusalem this week telling his disciples in the gospel of St. Matthew that He is going to die and Peter rebuked him saying never in my life and Jesus turned to him and said get behind me Satan. He further said this is a necessary suffering and it's because of you that am going to suffer.

In the gospel of St Mark chapter 10, when Jesus was on a Pilgrimage to Jerusalem and there was a blind man Bartimeaus and he kept on calling Jesus and Jesus heard his cry and he asked him what did you want me to do for you and he said I want to receive my sight. Many of us are seeking for Jesus because of what we need. The reasons and foremost why we serve God is because we love him. The moment Bartimeaus received his sight he followed Jesus on his Pilgrim to Jerusalem.

The question is how come? The people shouted Hossana and further more the people shouted Crucify him and they want them to release a notorious criminal Barabbas.

Jesus accepted his own suffering from the hand of his own creature. That’s why Jesus always goes to the mountains, because He is always in communion with His father.

Lastly he said if God is silent over your situation, because He is aware of your situation, then, the Lord is in need of our hearts, let us allow him to ride in our hearts.
