5 New Member Inducted into Serra Club
On Saturday, April 12, 2025, 5 new members were inducted into the Serra Club during their Lenten retreat. The induction ceremony took place after a homily that reflected on the spirituality of Saint Junípero Serra, the patron saint of the club.
The Serra Club is a Catholic organization dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Members commit to praying for and supporting those discerning a call to serve God and the Church. By joining the Serra Club, individuals participate in a global community that seeks to foster a culture of vocation and spiritual growth.
The reflection during the retreat focused on Saint Junípero Serra's profound trust in God's providence. Reflecting on his life and ministry, the speaker emphasized the saint's unwavering faith in God's goodness and care. The theme "Taste and see that the Lord is good" (Psalm 34:8) resonated deeply with the retreatants, inviting them to deepen their own trust in God's loving providence.
The new members’ induction into the Serra Club is a significant milestone, marking their commitment to support and pray for vocations. As they embark on this journey, they join a community of individuals dedicated to fostering spiritual growth and responding to God's call.
The Serra Club's mission is rooted in the belief that vocations are essential to the life and mission of the Church. By praying for and supporting those discerning a call to priesthood or religious life, members play a vital role in nurturing the spiritual fabric of their communities.
The retreat provided a conducive environment for spiritual reflection, prayer, and growth. The induction ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the importance of vocations and the role that individuals can play in supporting those called to serve God and the Church.
We use this opportunity to call on all lay faithful to identify with and join this most noble club and participate in supporting the work of SERRA.
