St. Anne Igangan Elects new Parish Laity Council Executives
Happiness ADEDEJI
The general election of the Parish Laity Council Executives was carried out on the 4th of May 2025. It started with the Holy Mass in the Church which was celebrated by the Parish Priest; Rev. Fr. Callistus Afolabi.
In his homily, he encouraged the People not to allow the situations of life to weigh them down because Jesus is always there at every moment for us. “He appeared to his disciples after they suffered all through the night toiling for fish but they caught nothing. Jesus’ appearance solved their problems.” He therefore urged the people to trust in God and put God first in everything they do.
The general meeting and election of the Laity Executives took place immediately after the Mass and it was anchored by the Archdiocesan Laity President; Mr Felix Olujide Oladokun, who was also welcomed at the Mass of that day. The following emerged as new officers of the Laity Council of St Anne Igangan: Mr Felix Ajayi – President; Mr Festus Oduola - Vice President; Mr Kehinde Philip – Secretary; Mr Jide Afolabi – Asst. Secretary; Mrs Esther Ogunniyi – Treasurer; Mr James Bankole - Fin. Secretary; Miss Florence Fagbemi - P.R.O and Mr Rufus Alapode - Ex Officio.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected President, Mr Felix Ajayi thanked everyone and promised to work faithfully for the Church without disappointing anyone.
The Meeting ended with the closing prayer and Benediction done by the Parish Priest.
