
CYON OKE - OFFA DEANERY ELECTS NEW LEADERS

On the 10th of August 2025, the Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON), Oke Offa Deanery, took a bold step by electing the first set of executives since the creation of the new deaneries, which includes: Oke Offa Deanery, Oke Ado Deanery, Oke Padi Deanery, Bodija Deanery, Mokola Deanery, Ikiire Deanery, Igboora Deanery and Oluyole Deanery.
The election took place immediately after a Self-Discovery Seminar organized by the Deanery Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Marcelino Azeez, alongside guest speakers Mr. & Mrs. Kolawole, who inspired the young people with an interactive discussion on life-changing issues.
Following the seminar, proper screening of candidates was conducted by the Electoral College present, which included: Rev. Fr. Marcelino Azeez (IBCYON Assistant Youth Chaplain/Oke Offa Deanery Youth Chaplain), Ogbeni Ola Tanimola (IBCYON Director of Socials I), Mr. Dominic Aminu Taiwo (Archdiocesan Laity Secretary) and Mr. Aderemi Thomas (Oke Offa Deanery Laity PRO).
After a transparent electoral process, the following CYONites emerged as the first set of executives to uphold the mandate of CYON Oke Offa Deanery: Opaleye Adewale James – President, Amoo Omoyosola Anthonia – Vice President, Erinle Aanuoluwapo Titilayo – General Secretary, Ifeoma Joy Umuoekeke – Assistant General Secretary, Nebo Peter – Financial Secretary, Igwe Patrick – Director of Socials/Welfare, Ajibola Taiwo Peter – Public Relations Officer (PRO).
After the announcement of results, the President-elect addressed the youth, expressing gratitude to everyone for entrusting them with the leadership of Oke - Offa Deanery. He urged members to work in unity with the new executives, promising that they would give their very best.
The Chaplain then congratulated the newly elected officers and led the closing prayer, after which the CYON anthem was joyfully sung by all present.
