Mokola Deanery CYON Elects Pioneer Executives

The Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON), Mokola Deanery, marked a significant milestone on Saturday, August 17, 2025, with the election of its first executive board since the establishment of the new deanery. The transparent electoral process, held immediately following a general meeting, ushered in a new era of leadership for the youth wing.

The election proceedings were meticulously overseen by a distinguished college of observers, ensuring fairness and adherence to established guidelines.

The screening panel included: Rev. Fr. John Paul Aniwondo – Assistant Parish Priest of St. Gabriel Mokola, Mr. Simon Senaya – Archdiocesan Laity Council Financial Secretary, Miss Assumpta Adanna Uzor – CYON Provincial Secretary, Mr. Happy Innocent Ezem – CYON Archdiocesan President, Mr. Yusuf Marcarius – CYON Archdiocesan Director of Socials and  Mr. Aderemi Thomas – Oke Offa Deanery Public Relations Officer.

 

Following a seamless and democratic process, the following dedicated CYONites emerged as the pioneer executives, entrusted with the mandate to steer the Mokola Deanery CYON:

 

President: Victor Moses Okeke, St Richard Parish Jericho GRA; Vice President: Esther Edwin, St Agnes Apete; Secretary: Rita Oshiname, St Rita Arometa, Assistant Secretary: Cynthia Odoemena, St Gabriel Mokola; Financial Secretary: Francis Ibeh, St Agnes Apete; Director of Socials: Andrew Amuduche, St Rita Arometa; PRO/Welfare: Ohika Pascal, St Monica Ologuneru and Provost: Emmanuel Bruce, St Christopher Sango

 

In his inaugural address, President-elect Victor Moses Okeke expressed profound gratitude to the youth for their trust and confidence in the new leadership. He passionately urged all members to foster unity and collaboration with the newly elected executives, promising their utmost dedication to the deanery's growth and success.

 

Rev. Fr. JohnPaul Aniwondo extended congratulations to the newly elected officers, commending their commitment to service. The event concluded with a heartfelt closing prayer led by Fr. Aniwondo, followed by a joyful rendition of the CYON anthem, resounding with the spirit of "For God and For Youth."

 

This election represents a pivotal moment for the Mokola Deanery CYON, setting a strong foundation for future initiatives and robust youth engagement within the Archdiocese.
