SONGS OF A NAIJA MAN

 

 

1. Do we humans always think and joyfully sing

Of who we are; children of God, The Most High King?

 

1. The Holy Books affirm this, and its open

Creation itself too sings that tune

 

1. We maim and kill ourselves for nothing

At the end of it all, everyone loses everything

 

1. The grave becomes our last destination

Or we are consumed by cremation

 

1. And the soul goes for final God's judgement

Hell or heaven is the final prize, everyone praying for heaven's appointment

 

1. Nobody inherits the earth, it is all a beautiful lie

It's the earth that will ever bid us goodbye

 

1. So, why the madness and foolishness

Of losing one's soul cause of the earthly flesh?

 

1. Man's days are counted only in months and years

Not in century, a tiny dot of eternity as we all are aware

 

1. Faith and love, the armours we need, as nothing else counts, not even money!

To travel successfully in this short earthly journey

 

1. All we call life is nothing but vanity

It gains meaning only when watered with charity
