ST. FRANCIS CATHOLIC CHURCH INDUCTS NEW ALTAR SERVERS.

John ESENE
St Francis Catholic Church, Sanyo-Soka inducted two Altar Servers on Easter Sunday (April 5, 2026). This event doubled our joy as it increased the number of Altar Servers for the Parish. When the Easter Mass began, every parishioner was looking joyous as the fasting and abstinence came to an end and a new life brought about with Christ’s Resurrection began.

The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Jude Adeyemo welcomed all and sundries glamorously as usual.  During the homily, he reminded us how people laid their clothes on the ground for Jesus during His return to Jerusalem for the Feast of Passover before His arrest and crucifixion. Unfortunately, the same people who sang Hosanna to the Son of David and those He healed failed to identify with Him on Good Friday during His crucifixion.

He encouraged us to be hopeful for a positive change like Peter who repented after denying Jesus thrice; we should rise when we fall and be bold like Mary Magdalene who went to the tomb and later testified to Jesus’ resurrection. There is hope for a better Nigeria even though our leaders do not seem to work for the betterment of this Nation. No cross, no crown! One day things will turn around for our good.

The two new Alta Servers are Vincent Joshua Adelakun and Michael Aderayo Odogiyon. After the induction and other activities, the Parish Priest concluded the service with final blessing.
