HAPPY MOTHERS DAY, ONCE AGAIN!
John ESENE
O woman, kindly read Luke 7:36-50 to realize that Jesus did not condemn you when you met Him in the house of Simon the Pharisee. After wetting His feet with your hair, kissed them, poured perfume on them. Jesus told the Pharisees who were complaining a parable and reminded them that they did not provide for Him what the woman called a sinful woman provided for Him. “I tell you then, the great love she has shown proves that her many sins are forgiven”.
When you are provoked, do not be highly tempered and try to fight for your right at all cost. In Daniel 13:41-62, we saw how God sent Daniel to fight for Susanna when those two men framed her up because she refused to be molested. Our God has not changed; He will rescue you from your enemies if you remain righteous and put your trust in Him as you sojourn here on earth.
You can’t reach for anything new if your hands are still full of yesterday’s junks. So woman, examine your conscience and confess your sins sincerely to enable you rekindle your hope of meeting with Jesus like Mary Magdalene: do not be hopeless for Jesus Our Saviour is within to lead you to His Father, Our father!
Mark 5:25-34, how a sick woman touched Jesus’ cloak and her bleeding stopped. When Jesus asked, “Who touched my clothes?” the woman came and knelt at His Feet, and told Him the whole truth. Jesus said to her, “My daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your trouble”. What difficulties are you facing? Everybody has problem(s). God does not make anybody a prisoner. All doors cannot be closed at the same time. Even if they are closed, some of the windows will be opened. “God will make a way for you, if you will give Him full control; trust Him with your life and hopes and He will help you reach your goal. Sing a little song of faith, keep your courage bright, and soon you will see that God has turned your darkness into light.” Rachel Hartnett.
It is no more news that God wants the woman to beautify man’s life. Hence the man should appreciate God’s kindness by supporting the woman. In Gen. 2.18, 22 God said, “It is not good for the man to live alone. I will make a suitable companion to help him. He formed a woman out of the rib and brought her to him.” So woman, beautify your husband’s life and ensure you help to uplift him rather than mislead him in any circumstance. Paul said in Romans 12:12, “Let your hope keep you joyful, be patience in your troubles, and pray at all times”.
God has given you the function of being a mother hence you have the boldness to accept pregnancy and the pain that goes with it for many months before you are delivered of your baby or babies as the case may be. I know of a woman who was conditioned by her husband to accept pregnancies twelve times and God protected her all through. So, care for your children and husband for God who made you the mother in your family will strengthen you to achieve His objective for you no matter how rough the road may be. So, give God be the glory as you journey on in life!
When you are privileged to observe the plans enemies are making against your husband, your child or other relations, recall how Pilate’s wife saved her husband in Mt 27:19, 24. She sent him a message saying “Have nothing to do with that innocent man, because in a dream last night I suffered much on account of him.” When Pilate saw that the situation was becoming chaotic, he washed his hands in front of the crowd, and said, “I am not responsible for the death of this man! This is your doing!”
Your husband needs your support even when his problem has nothing to do with the family. Sometimes, your husband sings behind your back, Pato Ranking, “My woman, you are my everything!” You can recall how helpful Obama’s wife (Michelle) was to him when he was the president of United States! Who is that President of a country without a wife? “Behind every successful man, there is a woman” says an adage. But you have to accept your husband as the head of your family. So it has been and where there is love between husband and wife, they do not have to fight for supremacy. Remember that Onyeka Owenu insisted that “One love keeps us together.”
Do not write yourself off because you are a woman. Esther’s boldness brought about her Queenship and the freedom of the Jews. “I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. If I must die for doing it, I will die.” Esther 4:16. And later she said, “How can I endure it if this disaster comes on my people, and my own relatives are killed? And king Xerxes then said to her and Mordecai, the Jew, “Look, I have hanged Haman for his plot against the Jews, and I have given Esther his property” Esther 8:6-7.
O man, do not write woman off or call her the weaker sex! Value what you have and it will be useful to you. Nobody, not even the Disciples expected Mary Magdalene to boldly come out so early on that resurrection day. Mt 28:1, 5-7 told us how Mary Magdalene defiled everything and went to the tomb for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ when men were hiding to save their lives. More so, every man has a mother: a woman. So man, love your wife and see her as the bone of your bones and the flesh of your flesh! Encourage her to beautify your life and you will not regret it.
So woman, do not blame God for making you a woman. He meant well for you. Mary, the Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ is a woman. Come close to Mother Mary and she will teach you wisdom and love. See the Holy family as your model and peace will reign in your family. There is a woman I love so much, her name is Mary. Mother Mary, I love you! My dear woman, it shall be well with you in Jesus Name!
