Members of Association of Sacred Heart of Jesus (SHJ) Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) Ibadan Archdiocese are hereby notified that the Novena prayers preparation for the Feast of Ascension will commence in all the Parishes and Outstations throughout the Archdiocese from Friday 8 to Saturday 16 May 2026 by 5.00 daily.

 

Also the Novena prayers in preparation for Pentecost Sunday will commence from Sunday 10 to Tuesday 19 May, 2026 by 5.00pm daily.

 

All Centre Presidents in all the Parishes and Outstations are expected to organize these Novena prayers for their members.

 

The prayers and format for the Novena are clearly set out in the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary prayer book.

 

It is mandatory for all members of this Association to attend the Novena prayers at the various parishes and outstations throughout the Archdiocese.

 

Meanwhile, members are equally reminded of the Association’s second quarterly general meeting coming up at Saint Patrick Catholic Church Basorun, Ibadan on Saturday 16 May, 2026.

 

The meeting will commence with a Holy Mass by 12.00 noon prompt. The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Ekenedilichukwu Ugwoegbu is expected to celebrate the Holy Mass.

 

All Centre Presidents in all the Parishes and Outstations in the Archdiocese and Deanery Presidents or Coordinators should please mobilize and encourage their members to attend the meeting by arranging the transportation of their members to the meeting venue. Members who are mobile should kindly assist with their vehicles to convey members to the meeting Venue (Bashorun).

 

The Executive officers of the Deaneries, Parishes and Outstations are mandated to attend this important meeting. All the past Archdiocesan Executive officers of the Association both young and old are also invited to attend the meeting.

 

Members should please attend the meeting promptly as many important issues will be discussed.
