Church of the Ascension, Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo State, has unveiled and launched its harvest for the year 2026 on Sunday, June 7, 2026 across the three Masses in the Parish. The event officially marked the beginning of the 2026 harvest thanksgiving that affords parishioners the unique opportunity of appreciating God for His blessings and faithfulness. Harvest thanksgiving is equally a period in the Church for reflection, gratitude, and special time to raise funds to support the spread of the gospel, projects, charity, and maintenance of the Parish.

At the launching, a cross-section of parishioners was invited to unveil the harvest banners, which was followed with the announcement of harvest song and prayer to the excitement of the congregation, which also had in attendance, the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Francis Awotoye. The Chairperson, Harvest Central Planning Committee (HCPC), Prof. Beatrice Ohaeri, after the unveiling and launching, did her family harvest thanksgiving, well supported by parishioners.

This year’s harvest is jointly hosted by the Parish Board of Church Wardens, Holy Childhood Association, and Altar Servers. It would be recalled that before the official commencement of the line-up programmes, a steering committee of the representatives of hosting societies was put in place, which designed the blueprint, membership, and terms of reference for the main committee and nine sub-committees.

The 15-member HCPC got the Parish’s approval to host a series of events such as the unveiling and launching of the harvest, family harvest, professional harvest, grandparents and diaspora harvest, as well as the society, state and cultural harvest during the grand finale, among others, holding later in the year.
